The purchase decision followed a comprehensive 14-month test phase. CBC tested all candidate storage solutions for reliability and performance in combination with both Digidesign Pro Tools and Apple Final Cut. The DDP system prevailed over the competition and will now be used as the central storage system after the move to the broadcaster’s new building. The DDP system provides users with 15 TB of storage capacity. Media Logic will handle delivery and on-site installation.
CBC operates 50 linear and nonlinear edit suites, graphics workstations and digital audio studios in Cologne and Munich. In Cologne, Munich and Hanover, CBC supports the broadcasters VOX, Super RTL, RTL II, RTL SHOP, tv.gusto, tv.gusto Premium, RTL Crime, RTL Living and Passion. CBC also broadcasts the Swiss and Austrian advertising windows for VOX, Super RTL and RTL II.
