Sony Professional World Announces Speaker Program

Experts in film, broadcast, presentation, digital signage and simulation will discuss production technologies at Sony Professional World 2009.

Sony Professional World 2009 will take place in February and present Sony systems for broadcast, presentation, digital signage and simulation.

The event positions Sony as a systems supplier across professional imaging applications, from high-end cameras in simulated studio and film-set environments through retail displays to a 3D telepresence system. Product presentations, application scenarios and individual project consultation from the Sony Professional Solutions team will be offered in Cologne, Berlin and Munich.

Up to five guest specialists will join Sony Professional management in each city to discuss innovations, trends and technologies related to the product exhibition.

Cinematographer Michael Ballhaus will discuss digital cinematography and the film project In Berlin at the Cologne and Berlin stops. Television-production sessions include Broadview TV’s Leopold Hoesch in Cologne; Bavarian Broadcasting’s Birgit Niehaus in Munich on the broadcaster’s XDCAM format decision; and Professor Dr. Peter Holleczek of the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in Munich on networked production. Frank Meißner and Christoph Kloth of N24 will discuss the broadcaster’s technical realignment and studio conversion in Berlin. Ingolf Rehfeld, international sales director at Realtime Technology AG, will demonstrate computer-simulation applications, including real-time 3D visualization, in Berlin and Munich.

Metro Group’s Dr. Gerd Wolfram will present retail technology and digital signage in Cologne. Ulrich Spaan of EHI Retail Institute will discuss its IT Trends in Retail 2010 study in Munich, while consultant Achim Fringes and Absolutweb’s Stefan Drude will address point-of-sale digital signage there.
