LoiLoScope Video Editing with NVIDIA CUDA

Super LoiLoScope MARS uses NVIDIA CUDA GPUs for accelerated H.264 encoding and full-HD AVCHD editing and playback.

LoiLo introduced a new version of its Super LoiLoScope MARS video-editing software. NVIDIA GeForce CUDA GPUs accelerate video creation by as much as ten times compared with CPU-based encoders.

Super LoiLoScope MARS has an interface designed for users without specialist technical knowledge.

New software features include:

* GPU-accelerated H.264 encoding

* Up to ten-times-faster video creation with NVIDIA CUDA GPUs (1)

* Editing and playback of full-HD 1920 × 1080 AVCHD video

* Magnet Output for immediate output of several videos

* A simplified interface for saved projects

* Faster image editing

* A search button for thumbnail files

* Support for German, Chinese, English, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish

* Support for MP4, iPod, PSP, AVCHD, Blu-ray MP4, and YouTube HD video formats

“With Super LoiLoScope MARS, HD videos can be created quickly for various output devices and sources, at remarkable speed thanks to NVIDIA,” said LoiLo CEO Koji Sugiyama.

The MARS version uses the NVIDIA CUDA computing engine on NVIDIA GPUs for fast encoding, decoding, and playback of high-definition video.

(1) Based on a Windows Vista test comparing an Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 CPU at 2.66 GHz, which took 670 seconds, with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280 GPU, which took 65 seconds, when transcoding a 60-second AVCHD video into a 1920 × 1080 MP4 file.
