The Macromedia University of Applied Sciences for Media and Communication offered two practical stereoscopic film-production workshops with Alaric Hamacher of Virtual Experience from May 11 to 14. A limited number of external participants could attend.
The workshops formed part of the sixth semester of the Film and Television programme. A six-day practical workshop held on May 6–7 and May 11–14 targeted camera operators and assistants, who joined six cinematography students in a small group to address the creative and technical challenges of stereoscopic filming.
During the hands-on seminar, participants staged a scene in the MHMK studio using a 3D mirror rig and stereoscopic projection for immediate analysis. Attendance was limited to twelve.
On May 14, a one-day 3D compact course for decision-makers and staff—including directors, production managers, commissioning editors and distributors—covered the essential foundations of stereoscopy.
Dates and costs:
The six-day practical workshop took place on May 6–7 and May 11–14 and cost €950 plus VAT.
The one-day compact course took place on May 14 and cost €100 plus VAT.
Both seminars were held in Munich at MHMK. Information and registration were available by telephone at 089 544 151-0 or email at m.leuthnermacromedia.de.
