The term “release candidate” means that this update has already been thoroughly tested but is intended to benefit from additional community feedback before automatic distribution to customers.
Camera Raw 5.4 adds raw-data support for 26 current and older camera models, including the Canon EOS 500D (EOS Rebel T1i), Nikon D5000, Olympus E-620 and 18 Hasselblad models.
The Camera Raw function in Adobe Photoshop provides fast and easy access to the latest raw formats produced by many professional and mid-range digital cameras. Working with these digital negatives gives users greater creative control and flexibility while preserving the original raw data. Adobe Photoshop Camera Raw provides the same functions for TIFF and JPEG files.
Release-candidate users can send feedback on features and hardware compatibility to Adobe’s Camera Raw team through the Adobe User to User Forum: http://forums.adobe.com/community/cameraraw
