Autodesk has released SketchBook Mobile. The app is a professional drawing program and offers a complete toolset for creating sophisticated sketches and drawings. The interface has been simplified and designed intuitively especially for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
“Mobile apps are becoming increasingly important and range between simple entertainment and useful applications,” says Robert “Buzz” Kross, Senior Vice President Manufacturing Industry Group at Autodesk. “We are pleased to now be able to offer an app for industrial designers and creative developers in the App Store. With the SketchBook Mobile app, Autodesk once again demonstrates that we bring professional design technologies to market at a cost-effective performance ratio.”
The app uses the same engine as Autodesk SketchBook Pro drawing software and offers a similar range of functions. A combination of high-quality brushes, pens, markers and airbrushes, as well as a user-friendly, gesture-based interface, makes it possible to create drawings ranging from quick sketches to print-ready illustrations.
The main features of SketchBook Mobile are:
• Layers – Drawings can contain up to six layers
• Brushes – More than 25 different brushes with individual adjustment options are available
• Color selection – Customizable color swatches and wheels with RGB offer an infinite virtual palette
Drawings from SketchBook Mobile can be saved easily and opened in SketchBook Pro. Artists and designers can now realize their creative ideas anywhere and at any time and later expand and refine them with the help of SketchBook Pro.
