Melodyne editor is the first product with DNA - Direct Note Access technology, which enables access to individual notes in polyphonic audio material, the company explains. The recommended retail price of Melodyne editor is US$349/EUR 349. Alongside Melodyne editor, Celemony is introducing its new product line, consisting of Melodyne studio bundle, Melodyne editor, Melodyne assistant and Melodyne essential RTAS.

Melodyne editor attracted considerable worldwide attention when it was first unveiled because DNA technology was intended to make possible what had previously been considered impossible: editing individual notes in polyphonic audio material. After all registered Melodyne users were able to put the eagerly awaited product through its paces during a public beta phase, it is now ready for its worldwide sales launch.

Melodyne editor runs on Mac OS X and Windows and can be operated either as a plug-in or as a standalone program. Like the familiar Melodyne editions, Melodyne editor offers highly intuitive and musical editing through various tools—now also for polyphonic instruments thanks to DNA Direct Note Access. A completely new technological foundation provides numerous improvements over previous Melodyne editions in both plug-in and standalone operation, including a very short loading time, a freely resizable plug-in window, further-improved note detection and sound quality, and much more.

“The feedback from the public beta test was extremely positive; many thanks to all the testers! We are now very pleased to be able to release Melodyne editor for sale worldwide after extensive quality testing. At the same time, we are very excited to see how users receive the completely new audio-editing possibilities,” says Anselm Rößler, Managing Director of Celemony.

To mark the launch of Melodyne editor, Celemony is restructuring its entire product line. Alongside Melodyne editor, it now consists of Melodyne assistant (equivalent to Melodyne editor without DNA, US$249/EUR 199), Melodyne studio bundle (containing Melodyne studio 3 and Melodyne editor, US$699/EUR 699), and Melodyne essential RTAS (a new version of the Melodyne essential edition available only in the Digidesign bundle). These new products have also been available since November 16.
