MAXON Computer, a leading developer of professional 3D software, today announced its strategic cooperation with Py4D developer Tuningchannel, according to the company.
HYPERLINK “www.py4d.com”Py4D extends CINEMA 4D with an interface to the HYPERLINK “http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Python_Programmiersprache)”Python programming language, thereby offering every user of MAXON’s 3D package another simple way to extend the software with custom functions.
Python is a powerful programming language that is comparatively easy to learn, the statement continues. The unique combination of ease of use and performance enables Python to be used across a broad range of development fields. A special feature is the large number of freely available scripts and libraries that can be incorporated into users’ own projects. Python can even enable different applications to exchange data or information. Numerous well-known production companies already use Python extensively, the company explains.
Py4D is currently in “Open Beta” status and can already access the majority of CINEMA 4D’s functions, MAXON continues. The objective of the strategic cooperation between MAXON and Tuningchannel is to advance integration between Py4D and CINEMA 4D and bring stability and reliability to the standard familiar from MAXON products.
“Python is easy to learn and offers almost the same access to CINEMA 4D functionality as the C++ SDK,” comments Harald Schneider, Technical Managing Director and co-founder of MAXON. “We want to let the CINEMA 4D community know that we are supporting Py4D’s development sustainably and thereby strengthening CINEMA 4D users’ confidence in the Python connection.”
Sebastian Rath of Tuningchannel emphasises: “Py4D brings CINEMA 4D users numerous new possibilities. We are pleased about the opportunity to work with MAXON to move Py4D from beta status to a final product of the accustomed high quality as quickly as possible.”
The latest Py4D beta version, including documentation, is available free of charge at http://www.py4d.com. The website also provides a discussion forum and further supporting material. Further development stages and closer integration with CINEMA 4D are planned for the future.
