The new Academic Suite 2 is the first software package from Berlin software manufacturer MAGIX to enable work in complex networks. The MAGIX Video Pro X2 video-editing software, Xara Xtreme Pro 5 layout, web-design and graphics program, and Samplitude Music Studio 16 digital music-production environment included in the package now feature an MSI installer. This enables network administrators at schools, universities and educational institutions to equip entire media labs or selected individual computers within an organisation with the included programs. Use on a single computer without a network is also possible. Available exclusively to teachers and their classes, as well as lecturers and students, the package contains unrestricted full versions and is compatible with Windows XP, Vista and 7. It is available now as a single-seat licence for EUR 99.99 or a classroom licence (15+1) for EUR 399 at http://www.magix-academic-suite.de/ or from specialist retailers.
Together, the products complement one another to form a powerful creative suite capable of handling elaborate projects with very different emphases. For a school-theatre production, for example, announcement posters and a website can be created and suitable musical accompaniment pre-produced. Video clubs can film with as many as four cameras simultaneously, automatically synchronise the recordings in a so-called multicam mode for professional editing, and then burn them to DVD or Blu-ray or publish them directly online. Producing a university radio station, an attractively designed dissertation or an artistic video for a semester project are also conceivable applications for MAGIX Academic Suite 2. Even PowerPoint presentations can be enriched with appealing graphics, sounds and videos.
