According to Constantin Film, the first German-language live-action 3D production will be WICKIE AUF GROSSER FAHRT (working title). Rat Pack Filmproduktion will shoot the film as a co-production with Constantin Film this summer, the statement continues.
The new VICKY film relies on a tried-and-tested team: as with VICKY THE VIKING, Christian Becker (“The Wave,” “Vicky the Viking,” “Bang Boom Bang”) will once again produce the adventures of the little Viking boy—and his production and creative team will also be the same as for the major 2009 audience success. In addition, “The Crocodiles” producer Lena Olbrich will bring fresh energy to the team.
Top director Christian Ditter has been secured, having already demonstrated his tremendous flair for children’s and adventure films with films including “French for Beginners,” “The Crocodiles” and “The Crocodiles Strike Back” (cinema release: January 21, 2010). Following these three films, WICKIE AUF GROSSER FAHRT (working title) is already the fourth collaboration between director Christian Ditter, the Rat Pack production team and Constantin Film, Constantin Film explains.
Filming for WICKIE AUF GROSSER FAHRT (working title) is scheduled for summer/autumn 2010. Shooting will take place on the already familiar sets in Bavaria as well as in England, Denmark and Malta.
Almost five million cinema-goers in Germany saw the first Vicky film, Michael Bully Herbig’s VICKY THE VIKING. This makes it the most successful German cinema film of 2009.
On November 11, 2011, the new film WICKIE AUF GROSSER FAHRT (working title) is then due to sail across the big, wide screen, distributed by Constantin.
