At the beginning of April 2010, MCI will install the new set designed by Wieder Design Munich. The special feature: in future, Saudi TV 1 will present four different sports programmes from one studio and therefore needs four different sets that can be assembled and dismantled on a mobile basis, MCI explains.
For the different sports programmes, interchangeable prints stretched over rotating aluminium boxes will form the background. “The prints can be changed quickly and easily for the respective programme with the help of the boxes - just as we know from advertising displays at bus stops,” explains MCI project manager Fabian Bäter.
Two platforms for different presenting situations will be used across a floor area of 400 square metres. Each print box is covered with two different motifs, Studio Hamburg explains. LED strips behind Plexiglas diamonds provide the correct lighting, it adds.
The MCI workshops had already produced two studio sets for the news programmes of the Saudi Arabian television channels Saudi TV 1 and Al Ekhbariya in autumn 2009. Both channels are operated by the Saudi Ministry of Culture and Information and are among the country’s largest broadcasters, according to Studio Hamburg.
