The St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences website has appeared in a new design and with clearer structures since the weekend. It also includes a virtual tour of the building’s rooms developed by students.
With its new design, the site offers information and entertainment. A particular highlight is the virtual tour, through which users can move around the rooms of St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences. The project was realised by a 25-member student group as part of the Media Technology bachelor’s programme. The team was supervised by university lecturer Thomas Bredenfeld. Since the project was highly interdisciplinary, students had the opportunity to apply their knowledge from areas such as photography, programming and 3D design. They often had to familiarise themselves with completely new areas specifically for this purpose.
Students have invested around 3,000 working hours in the project to date. Approximately 40 of the university’s roughly 90 rooms can currently be found online. The others are to be added continually. Numerous features are also planned, and their development may again be carried out with students.
