According to the company, Quantel will present its current product portfolio for post and broadcast production at NAB 2010 (April 12 to 15) in Las Vegas, including various interesting new products and further developments. The focus will be on the completely file-based workflow with sQ Enterprise, Final Cut Pro integration, the Mission data asset management system with several new features, and the stereo 3D workflow for broadcasting, for which Quantel has developed a new 3D editor.

In its demonstration theatre at the trade show stand, Quantel will demonstrate the advantages of fully data-driven broadcast production based on the open system architecture of sQ Enterprise. Virtualisation and Open Identity technology is the key component for seamless integration of third-party systems. Another highlight in Quantel’s showroom is the stereo 3D workflow with sQ Enterprise for producing stereo 3D television programmes.

The multiple award-winning sQ Enterprise system, proven in daily use at many broadcasters including ESPN, Rogers, BBC, WDR and QVC, supports the entire production chain from ingest and journalist editing through finishing and playout, and enables optimal Final Cut Pro integration.

Stereo 3D for post-production and broadcast

Quantel’s award-winning Enterprise sQ workflow now also supports complete stereo 3D production from ingest and editing through playout. The new stereo 3D timeline with integrated effects tools has been developed for daily stereo 3D post-production. Another innovative new product is a stereo 3D editor for broadcasting.

Quantel has equipped the integrated Mission media asset management system with new features such as Media Center, which enables web-based browsing and retrieval of files. The sQ Load ingest tool for reading data from tapeless camcorders has also been further optimised, as has file-based data exchange between Quantel and EVS production servers, enabling an efficient open workflow.

Real-time grading with RED data in post-production

The post-production range also presents innovative ideas and further developments: a new Multi Layer menu provides even greater flexibility when grading. Real-time grading has long been standard in the Pablo colour correction system. With the new Windows 7 64-bit OS tool, Quantel now also offers real-time performance for the integrated RED workflow while making economical use of SAN storage resources.
