Avid offers customers using the P2 HD format with AVC-Intra compression a simple, fast and high-quality workflow from ingest to playback. Customers therefore no longer need to transcode or rewrap media recorded in AVC-I in order to edit, share or distribute the content.

Support for the AVC-Intra codec in Interplay enables customers both to increase productivity and to implement larger productions without difficulty. Collaborative workflows are distributed over a LAN or WAN. Shot lists can thus be created with low-resolution proxies and linked to the higher-resolution AVC-Intra material for direct broadcast.
With support for AVC-Intra data rates of 50 MB/s and 100 MB/s at resolutions of 1080i/720p, users of the latest version of Avid AirSpeed Multi Stream (1.5) can accelerate broadcast through more efficient playback. . Four simultaneous channels at 50 MB/s each or three simultaneous channels at 100 MB/s each are also possible – all in a space-saving 1.5RU form factor.
The P2HD AVC-Intra workflow is available from the second quarter in Avid Interplay (2.2) and Avid AirSpeed Multi Stream (1.5). Further information on the latest updates and the simplified HD production workflows they enable can be found at http://www.avid.com.
