With the IMAX title “Grand Canyon Adventure”, due to be released at the end of June, Imagion AG and Eurovideo are entering the third dimension. During Mediatech in Frankfurt, the company showed the first 3D Blu-ray Disc from an independent studio in its final version. “Once again, we wanted to demonstrate that we are leaders in innovation and
quality. We are particularly proud to release such an outstanding film as Grand Canyon Adventure, which was created especially in 8k resolution for 3D cinemas with incredible attention to detail, on the new format. Together with our partners Ryan Mullins of BigPicture and Eurovideo, we are delighted to be the first in Europe to have created a commercial Blu-ray Disc according to the new 3D standard,” said Michael Becker and Andreas Thran,
members of the executive board of Imagion AG.
Imagion AG is currently the only European authoring studio officially licensed by the BDA (Blu-ray Disc Association) to create 3D Blu-ray Discs under the Commercial Audiovisual Content Agreement (see:
http://www.blu-raydisc.info). With the completion of the first 3D Blu-ray Disc, “Grand Canyon Adventure”, Imagion is opening up a comprehensive range of services for the production of 3D BD titles for the home entertainment market. The service catalogue includes menu design, creation of 3D subtitles, video encoding, authoring, BD-Java programming and quality testing for the new Blu-ray 3D standard.
