When only a few people use 3D Vision Pro, a standard LCD screen is said to be sufficient; larger groups then require projectors, powerwalls or even cinema screens. Within a radius of 45 metres, the glasses are intended to work without dead zones or signal loss, representing the current high point of Nvidia’s development of 3D content, which has been under way since 1999.
The glasses are intended to permit up to 20 hours of work on one battery charge – and customers for the system are already being found, particularly outside the entertainment sector. As Nvidia announced, contracts have already been signed with Siemens Healthcare, Agilent, Cineform and RTT, which intend to use 3D Vision Pro for medical applications and engineers.
