ATI Catalyst 10.8 for Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP and Linux is available for download. The special feature of this release is support for the WebGL standard, which enables 3D graphics on the internet without relying on special plug-ins. With the OpenGL ES 2.0 driver, graphics can be rendered faster in the browser and 3D content then becomes accessible on every computer. Incidentally, Google, Mozilla and Opera are among the members of the WebGL Working Group.
The game accelerations are specific to each card – but Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead 2 and Stormrise have each been accelerated by 2 to 10 percent.
