One or more units of Cinegy Capture can be installed on a server or a standard PC with the corresponding number of SDI cards. Once started, Cinegy Capture announces itself over the local network as an available device or service, which is controlled using a web client.
Cinegy Capture Express is aimed primarily at Avid users, since Avid DNyHD video material, among other things, is also supported and can be edited in Avid MediaComposer. Cinegy Capture Express therefore frees up Avid systems that would otherwise be used only for pure ingest applications. Cinegy Capture Express has a regular price of around 1,500 euros; during IBC, Cinegy is offering the software at an introductory price of 995 euros.
Cinegy Capture Web and Cinegy Capture Pro, the version equipped with many additional features, will go on sale shortly after IBC.
In the area of internet streaming, Capture Web focuses on SD and HD encoding of H.264 for Flash, QT and Smoothstreaming in real time. In addition to other functions, the top version of Cinegy Capture has multi-proxy support for the simultaneous encoding of several streams. This is ideal for use in MAM or archive workflows. All Cinegy Capture products are equipped with an open programming interface (Web Services API) that permits the creation of custom controls or integration into other products. The Cinegy Capture API is freely available and was submitted to the AMWA-EBU FIMS committee as a proposal for standardisation.
Cinegy Type is an add-on module for the Cinegy Air video-server and broadcast-automation product family. The software enables animated titles and logos as well as channel branding, thereby replacing expensive specialist hardware. Whether a simple ticker, lower third or complex multilayer animated titles with live picture-in-picture, all of this can be designed as a reusable template with the Cinegy Type Template Editor and controlled simply through the existing Cinegy Air broadcast automation. Dynamic elements in the template can still be updated or replaced at any time.
The combination of Cinegy Air with Cinegy Type makes it possible to accommodate up to two channels of HD playout with CG, branding, HD-SDI, RTP and UDP output in a single 1U server, which means 84 complete HD playout channels in a single 42U rack. Even greater density can be achieved through the use of server blades. Cinegy Type costs around 3,000 euros as an add-on module for Cinegy Air. Cinegy Air starts at around 800 euros for the entry-level Cinegy Air Express version; Cinegy Air HD costs around 6,000 euros. The two applications are available as a package for around 8,500 euros.
Cinegy’s media-asset-management and production-workflow solution Cinegy Archive is a simple way to use a collaboration workspace.
The solution combines the advantages of being web-browser-based, meaning available everywhere without installation, with the conveniences of a real application. This is achieved with the help of Microsoft’s latest Silverlight technology. The Cinegy Workspace application has a modular structure and can be expanded in its functionality.
Production teams can work together on projects from anywhere; even demanding operations such as complex SD or HD editing, tape or live SDI ingest, XDCAM or P2 import are possible.
Cinegy Archive starts at around 5,000 euros and already includes five Cinegy Workspace licences at this price. Ten additional Cinegy Workspace user licences cost around 2,000 euros. The unlimited Cinegy Workspace server licence costs around 10000. Cinegy Desktop starts at approximately 3,000 euros per floating licence. Depending on volume, the price can fall to 1,500 euros.
