What does classical ballet have in common with modern street dance? Not much at first glance, since neither the calm pieces of music nor the cool hip-hop sounds can somehow be combined. But when two such different worlds meet, unique connections can also arise, perfectly staged in the first dance film produced entirely in 3D. In a fast-paced mixture of music, dance and above all passion, StreetDance 3D gets right under the skin and leaves no viewer sitting still.
In the cinema hit, which delighted more than half a million viewers in Germany alone, it is not only the award-winning street-dance acts Flawless and Diversity that impress with unique choreography, because 17-year-old George Sampson, winner of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ 2008, was also able to demonstrate his ability in the fast-paced dance film. Numerous well-known singers were also secured for the soundtrack, with N-Dubz, Chipmunk, Pixie Lott, Cheryl Cole and Tinie Tempah all represented by tracks in the film.

StreetDance 3D has been available on DVD and Blu-ray as well as Blu-ray 3D since November 5. StreetDance – The Moves was released on DVD at the same time for all true dance fans, showing how to recreate the cool steps from the film with ease.
Plot:
The most important thing in young Carly’s (Nichola Burley) life is dancing. She is so successful at it that she enters the British championships with her street-dance crew. But first they still have to train intensively. Since they lack suitable premises, they are delighted when dance teacher Helena (Charlotte Rampling) offers them the opportunity to practise at the Royal Dance School. In return, however, they must include a group of ballet students in their training. The dancers quickly realise that their worlds could hardly be more different. Nevertheless, they fight together so that they can compete in the championship.
