Great colour dynamics in moving images too: as scientists at the University of Warwick have announced, they have now succeeded in shooting a 20-stop Full-HD 30fps video.

Instead of workarounds with multiple cameras, the researchers used a camera made by Spheron-VR AG to shoot a Full-HD stream spanning 20 stops at 30 frames per second. The resulting quantities of data are compressed to a manageable size using a codec that was also newly developed.
