LightWave now supports off-axis camera-rig types and therefore all three stereoscopic camera rigs available on the market for live action, MoCap and animation. Viewport Preview provides an extra portion of support.

LightWave 10.1 now features Autodesk Geometry Cache support. Models, morphs, animations, cameras and lighting settings can now be imported and exported. Joints can also be imported as LightWave Bones to ensure improved compatibility with other programs.

LightWave 10.1 is expected to be available to registered LightWave 10 users in the second quarter of 2011. For a short time, according to the manufacturer, the upgrade price from LW v9 to LW 10.1 will be 495 US dollars. A regular LightWave 10.1 licence is expected to cost 895 US dollars.
