Lucasfilm will work with Prime Focus on the conversion of "Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace". Prime Focus is one of the largest conversion and VFX companies and has worked on Avatar, Shrek, Tron, Narnia and, most recently, Sucker Punch, among others. The artists in London, L.A. and Mumbai will work with Prime Focus’s own "Global Digital Pipeline" and convert the first instalment using the company’s View-D process.
The questions that remain unanswered will be announced as the ongoing process continues, for example whether R2D2 will now become R3D3 or whether the character JarJar Binks will gain a little more depth.
