The Foundry announced the release of the new conform and VFX workflow tool HIERO at IBC. The new tool draws on Storm technology and closes the timeline-based gap in the shot-based Nuke workflow.

HIERO works with Nuke, but can also be used for other products. HIERO is a desktop application for a collaborative VFX workflow. It provides a scriptable timeline tool for Nuke that aligns edit lists and distributes VFX work among Nuke artists. The close Nuke integration makes it possible to track the progress of shots in the editing context.

HIERO is expected to be available for OSX and Linux from November of this year, with Windows following later.
