These new functions are intended to offer support for any 3D material from current cameras as well as easy pairing of clips for the left and right eyes. Edius is now also intended to make conversion of 2D material into 3D clips possible; in addition, some 3D tools in the timeline are intended to ensure that 3D settings can be made and a 3D preview viewed, while 3D support also supports some 2D functionalities such as real-time color correction, keying, transitions and multicam editing.
Availability
At the beginning of December, Grass Valley will make a 30-day trial version of Edius with the new 3D functionality available online for download. Grass Valley is also offering a discounted crossgrade to Edius 6 for Adobe Premiere, Apple Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer, Liquid and Sony Vegas users until the end of 2011. Instead of the regular 699 euros, you can get Grass Valley Edius 6 for 349 euros until December 31.
