Autodesk has a lot to offer this year at NAB 2012 in the Las Vegas Convention Center from April 16 to 19. Leading the way is the presentation of a new edition of the editing and finishing giant Smoke Premium for Mac OS, which was completely redesigned and technically refreshed.
According to Autodesk’s program, new customized Entertainment Creation Suites will also be presented. Alongside the Maya Entertainment Creation Suite and the 3D Studio Max Creation Suite, another Autodesk Entertainment Creation Ultimate Suite with an expanded scope will be presented, which will include further useful tools from the Autodesk product range in addition to 3ds Max and Maya.
The twentieth anniversary of the 3D compositing software Flame is being celebrated, and it will also be presented as a Premium Suite. In addition, there will be a historical retrospective of twenty years of compositing with Flame, with examples from various artists and studios.
Further work presentations will be given by, for example, Vico Sharabani and Alex Frisch, the co-founders and VFX supervisors of Copa Network, who used Flame Premium in conjunction with Mudbox to produce a music video called Turn Me On by Nicki Minaj and David Guetta.
Ben Fender of Drive Productions, a company that specializes in projecting objects and 3D animations onto complex backgrounds alongside 4D mapping, presents work samples from projects for Bombay Sapphire, Nokia, and PRL. Autodesk Maya was used.
Evan Schechtman of @radical.media will also be on site and show how he himself uses Maya and Smoke to create multiplatform projects with award-winning potential.
