Ten contributions featuring the latest developments from the world of games and interactive technologies were selected by a jury for the 90-minute presentation at Siggraph, which takes place from August 5 to 9. This year, according to Jason RM Smith, Real-Time Live! Director and Digital Production Supervisor at LucasArts, the focus is on projects that further advance the representation of the human character and show physically based lighting and shading techniques.

Premieres

Some projects in the program will be presented for the first time exclusively at Siggraph. These include highlights such as the presentation of the game "Uncharted 3," for which developer Naughty Dog took on the challenge of showing various Enviroment effects such as fire, water, or sand as real-time rendering in high VFX quality.

Star Wars 1313

Epic Games also offers a look at the new Unreal Engine 4 called Elemental, which is intended to raise shading in games to a new level. Another highlight in the program series is the game "Star Wars 1313" from Lucas Arts. Through this game project, in which Industrial Light & Magic is also involved, a traditional film look is intended to be experienced in real time.
