EditShare became known, on the one hand, for offering free of charge a high-end editing application named Lightworks, which the company continues as an open-source project. The software was used, among other things, on Pulp Fiction and has belonged to the international company since 2009. Fundamentally, in addition to the NLE, EditShare offers end-to-end suites for media management, asset management, and shared storage solutions.
Octopus Newsroom is a Czech developer of internationally used newsroom computer systems for the TV broadcast industry. The arsenal of Octopus Newsroom includes the platform-independent and cost-effective NRCS Octopus6, which supplies every journalist in the TV newsroom with all the necessary tools required to carry out their work.
The partnership concluded only recently gives Octopus Newsroom new sales channels in North America, and EditShare wants to expand its support for MOS-compliant NRCS to include Octopus6.
