For its 20th anniversary, Autodesk is releasing a newly designed version of its first VFX software, Flame Premium. The 2013 extension update is currently intended exclusively for subscription customers. The update is intended to improve the workflow with Flame significantly through a more creative workspace and better access to all Flame tools. According to Autodesk, the timeline workflow has also been improved; the timeline can now be found directly at the top of the application, which is intended to make switching between the various functions easier.

Another feature is the Color Grading Toolset, which according to Autodesk can operate in real time. The GPU pipeline is also said to have been improved for faster compositing and VFX development. Several conforming tools are also said to have been added that are closely connected to the timeline and event list.
