According to manufacturer Red Giant Software, the Knoll Light Factory 3 lighting effects software has been completely revised, particularly the editor, which can now add flares especially quickly. Whether the release name is “J.J. Abrams” is not known to us.
The interface has also been revised to enable precise point-and-click operation even at higher resolutions—including with the new effects and enhancements, such as automated animation systems for flickers, strobe and more. Lighting effects are placed directly in 3D space through the connection to After Effects.
Knoll Light Factory 3 works with After Effects CS4 and later, Premiere CS5 and FCP7. A full version costs 199 US dollars, while an upgrade costs 99 dollars. While you are at Red Giant: Trapcode Mir has also appeared in version 1.0.
