At NAB, RED announced the Dragon sensor with 6K resolution, higher dynamic range and frame rates, and better ISO as an upgrade for the RED Epic and RED Scarlet. However, Jarred Land has now announced in the REDUSER forum that "the end of the year" cannot be met—because not only the sensor, but the complete camera ASIC must be replaced. Instead of the finished product, at least the first test footage is supposed to be shown at Christmas.
