The interaction between After Effects and Cinema 4D was already close through two plug-ins, and this connection is now being deepened by two new developments. The two Maxon technologies Cineware and Cinema 4D Lite will be integrated into the new version of After Effects.

With the Cineware Live 3D pipeline between Cinema 4D and After Effects, artists no longer have to switch between the two software packages. Passes required for compositing can be provided on demand in After Effects through the Cineware bridge and are available as layers in the Adobe software. According to Maxon, Cinema 4D scenes can also be loaded natively into After Effects. Artists are also expected to benefit from shorter render times through the new feature because the Cinema 4D Advanced Rendering Engine can be used directly from After Effects. Changes are immediately visible in After Effects as well.

Anyone installing the new After Effects also receives Cinema 4D Lite directly, a version of Cinema 4D reduced to important basic functions. This is intended to allow After Effects artists to integrate their first 3D elements into their workflows and get a taste of the full version’s toolset.
