Features of Pro Tools 11 include a completely revised audio engine and a 64-bit architecture. Expanded metering options have also been added, from peak and average measurement to VU and PPM, allowing requirements from regional broadcasters, among others, to be met.
The integrated Avid video engine provides direct HD workflows by allowing HD video formats to be played and edited in the timeline without transcoding. Direct collaboration with Media Composer users is also now expected to be possible. Avid has added further virtual instruments and effects intended to increase the creative audio options during editing.
Pro Tools 11 is expected to be available as a full version from the Avid online shop in the second quarter of 2013 for 596 euros. An upgrade from version 10 is available for 239 euros, while an HD upgrade costs 479 dollars.
