The survey is being conducted by Hamburg Media School on behalf of the VTFF. It is hoped that it will provide fundamental information about the size, structure and development of this sector.

The reason: there has so far been hardly any reliable data on technical companies for film and television. Nobody knows the exact number and size of the companies or how many jobs they create. Prices, investment requirements and profit margins can only be speculated about, as can capacity utilisation in individual areas.

To finally provide sound figures and no longer depend on rough market estimates, a detailed questionnaire was sent to almost 1,000 companies in the fields of studios, rental, post-production, VFX, SFX, outside broadcasting, dubbing, equipment and authoring, with an appeal for as many companies as possible to participate in the survey by early July.

The survey is being carried out by Hamburg Media School, which examined the film and television producers’ market last year with the "Producers Study 2012".

The study questionnaire can be downloaded from the VTFF website.
