If you are also currently at IBC: Until September 17, you still have the opportunity to learn about the latest features of Flame Premium 2014 live and in color at the Autodesk stand.
Features
Features of Autodesk Flame Premium 2014 include new tools for 3D and VFX work and a GPU pipeline intended to provide better interactivity of functions within the workflow so that complex production tasks can be simplified.
Specifically, according to Autodesk, Flame Desktop, the effects and editorial timeline, the procedural batch-compositing environment and Action 3D compositing have been linked together more optimally for more efficient work.
Other feature highlights include support for 3D wrapping of movements and improved tracking, so that tracking accuracy is increased for complicated elements.
Reactor 2.0
In addition, the GPU-based Reactor 2.0 batch pipeline offers a 16-bit floating-point format throughout the complete application. Reactor 2.0 allows effects in the timeline to be previewed and reordered during playback, and timeline compositing can be converted directly into a batch tree.
In terms of color grading, the real-time color grading of the new Lustre ShotReactor can improve background rendering and offer faster image processing.
Availability
Autodesk Flame subscription customers can already test Flame Premium 2014’s new workflow in the beta version. Flame Premium 2014 is expected to ship in the fall. Autodesk is streaming the IBC presentation live in the Autodesk Digital Entertainment Community Area.
