"Mr Hublot" by Laurent Witz and Alexandre Espigares is a stereoscopic animated short film from the Luxembourg studio Zeilt Productions. It not only received an animago AWARD in the "Best Short Film" category, but also adorns the cover of the current animago special issue.
The film has an impressive steampunk look and is set in a future in which people wear all kinds of technology on their bodies, including Mr. Hublot. He watches as a robot dog is threatened by the shredder, rescues it, takes it in, and for a while all is right with the world for both of them. However, the dog’s uncontrollable growth presents both of them with several problems…
The production was created as a co-production with Arte France. Zeilt Productions, a studio with a ten-person team, has existed since 2007. A feature film is also planned with the world of Mr Hublot; Zeilt Productions is currently looking for co-production partners.

There is also joy in Baden-Württemberg at Studio Soi: Max Lang, who already realized "The Gruffalo", and Jan Lachauer, who was involved as director on "Herr Hoppe und der Atommüll", may be able to look forward to an Oscar nomination. Their animated film "Room on the Broom" is also on the list.
