Render Management with Deadline 6.1

Thinkbox Software has released version 6.1 of its data management solution Deadline and made several improvements.

According to Thinkbox Software, Deadline is compatible with all platforms. The stability of the render-management tool and the speed of job submission are said to have been improved. Overall, release 6.1 is expected to perform ten times faster than the previous version.Deadline 6.1 also integrates Draft 1.1, a compositing and video-processing plug-in intended to automate post-render tasks and which now features improved OpenEXR support. 

Further features include improved plan control that allows users to organize the workflow via an algorithm, a node-based Job Dependency View, an updated API and a standalone Python API. Cloud Provider Support has also been added, and Deadline can now work with Microsoft Azure and Amazon EC2. In addition, Thinkbox Software has expanded software package support: Adobe After Effects CC, Maxon Cinema 4D R15, Side Effects Software Houdini 13, Next Limit Technologies Maxwell Renderer V3, The Foundry’s Nuke 8, Next Limit Technologies RealFlow 2013, Planetside Software Terragen 3, Chaos Group V-Ray 3 for 3ds Max and E-on Software Vue 2014, among others, can now cooperate with Deadline 6.1.
