The plug-in called Shapes Brushes is intended to bring new sculpting tools to Maya. Although the tool is currently still in the development phase, it can already be tested free of charge. The brushes are currently available in three modes: the Grab Brush can be used to pull the mesh in screen space. In addition, holding the Shift key activates the Smooth Brush, while the Ctrl key makes the Slide Brush available. This allows Maya users to move the mesh while retaining the underlying shape.
The plug-in supports Maya version 2012 and later for Windows, Linux, and OS X. You can download it free of charge here.
