ButtleOFX is based on the TuttleOFX Image Processing Framework, which in turn is based on the OpenFX plug-in standard. The development team worked on the tool for two years. So far, the alpha version has only been released for Linux 64 bit, but a Windows version is also planned. The team points out on its website that the current version still contains several bugs and that there is still a long way to go before a final production version.
The user interface consists of four parts: a browser, a viewer, a graph editor, and a parameter editor. The view can be adapted to preferences with three workspace layouts.
