Capture More Easily with Brekel

Two Brekel apps were improved in v2. More people can now be captured and point clouds exported to common formats.

Brekel has focused on markerless capture via Kinect sensors. Behind it is Dutch artist Jasper Brekelmanns, who develops Brekel’s applications and specialises in MoCap projects.

Since the beginning of November, following a long development and beta phase, two applications have been released in version 2. One new app is Brekel Kinect Pro Body v2. It can capture up to six people in the office or living room with the Kinect sensor. In real time and without markers. The other, Brekel Pro PointCloud v2, can record 3D point clouds and export them to the most common 3D software packages. Both apps were rewritten from the ground up and work extremely well with the Kinect for Windows v2 sensor.

A free trial version is available. Otherwise, the various applications are available for 79 US dollars each — in the v1 variant. The two v2 programmes, however, cost 139 US dollars. Here is the shop and here are the information clips for the two applications in their new guise:
