The Acer Predator XB280HK with 4K resolution and Nvidia G-Sync has been on the market since last year – alongside the Acer Predator XB270H models with Nvidia 3D Vision 2 and the Acer Predator XB270HA with Nvidia G-Sync and Nvidia 3D Vision 2.
With the new Predator XB-series displays – XB270H, XB270HA, and XB280HK – Acer says it is targeting the gamer market in particular. The 68.5 cm (27-inch) models have a Full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. The Acer Predator XB280HK has a diagonal of 71.12 cm (28 inches) and an Ultra HD resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels.
According to Acer, all models have an ergonomic design with numerous adjustment options. The monitors can be adjusted in height by 150 mm, tilted upwards by 35 degrees or downwards by 5 degrees, and swivelled 60 degrees to the right or left without having to move the base. The integrated pivot function is also said to make it possible to rotate the screen by 90 degrees and thus use it in portrait format.
Further features of the series, according to information from Acer, are the short response time of 1 millisecond and a wide range of interfaces (DisplayPort, HDMI (MHL 2.0, DVI dual interface).
A 144 Hz refresh rate, a uniform power supply ("Flickerless technology") and a matte panel ("ComfyView technology") are intended to prevent eye fatigue. The display brightness can likewise be reduced to as little as 15 percent in low-light environments ("Low-dimming technology").
Nvidia G-Sync
The Acer Predator XB280HK and Acer Predator XB270HA have Nvidia G-Sync on board: When the displays are connected to a PC with a GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost or a higher-end graphics card, Nvidia G-Sync synchronises the display’s refresh rate with the GPU in order to eliminate tearing effects, latency, and delayed image output. The Acer Predator XB270HA also supports the Nvidia 3D Vision 2 Kit.
Prices
The Acer Predator XB270H costs 399 euros, the XB270HA model 499 euros, and the XB270HK 599 euros (all prices incl. VAT).
