In the first part of the tutorial, Jeremy Fernsler shows what tile textures can be useful for in Maya and how the Blend Colors node can be used with several procedural textures to create a non-repeating texture for large surfaces.

In the second part, the tile concept is built up with the transitions and the idea is expanded through a shader network:

In the third and final part, Jeremy Fernsler takes a closer look at the Blend Colors node and uses procedural noise with it. This makes it easier to combine two different textures, even on large surfaces, without resorting to excessively large texture sizes.
