Of course, there are also sensational CG and animation projects that manage entirely without characters. But many works nevertheless rely on the viewer’s identification with a main protagonist. To give appropriate recognition to the loving design of precisely these, especially in the field of 3D animated film, in 2015 we are once again honouring the best CG character with an animago trophy. Criteria for assessment by this year’s animago jury are modelling, animation of facial expressions, movement sequences, texturing and, of course, the credibility factor.
In 2013, the student team from Supinfocom Arles university in France best fulfilled these criteria with “A la Française”, and the animago had gone to the chicken:
