Zync on the Google Cloud Platform can work with Maya, Nuke, V-Ray and Arnold and give complex rendering jobs the necessary power boost. Support for Pixar’s Renderman is also planned for this year. Anyone who currently registers for a Zync account receives 300 US dollars in Free Trial Credit, which is around 140 rendering hours for V-Ray or 120 hours for Arnold on a 32-core workstation. Anyone who would like to receive an additional 500 US dollars can register for the additional bonus using a form.
Zync Competition
Furthermore, to mark the beta launch, Google has started a small competition through which artists have the chance to have their 3D work featured on the Google Media Landing Page . Anyone who creates a render with Zync can publish it via social media with the tag #RenderMore or send it by email to gcp-for-media@google.com by December 31. If no 3D model is available, the Google Zync mascot “Fred” can be used free of charge for these purposes. The model’s zip file is 20.3 MB.
All further information about Zync is available on Google’s Rendermore homepage.
Here is a demo video of Zync on the Google Cloud Platform in use with Autodesk Maya.
You can find more videos on using Zync on the YouTube channel of the Zync renderer.
Incidentally, it will not be long before our new DP issue with the focus topic of renderers is published, namely on October 14, just in time for animago.
