Wacom presents the new Pro Pen 3D, which is aimed particularly at 3D artists. You can read in one of the next DP issues whether the new pen is really worthwhile for 3D use—we are already testing the new Wacom tool.

What Functions Does the Pro Pen 3D Offer?

The black Pro Pen 3D comes with a total of three user-definable buttons. This provides additional options for shortcut allocation when modelling in 3D applications such as ZBrush or Maya. The pen’s third button is assigned to the turn or rotate function by default, but can be changed as desired using the Wacom driver. Apart from the additional button, the technical details correspond to the Wacom Pro Pen 2. These include…

  • 8192 pressure levels
  • 60 levels of tilt recognition
  • Battery-free and wireless use
