With Modo 11.2, Foundry has released the final 11.X update for the 3D tool. The update includes improvements in the areas of modelling, UV, animation, I/O and Meshfusion.

New in Modo 11.2

The Poly Bevel tool receives new features for more complex bevel functions. “Square Corner” adds quads at the corner points. “Offset Even” produces even spacing between the inserted faces. You can also use “Thicken” to add inverted polygons and thereby obtain a closed volume.

Procedural modelling gets a new “Select by Previous” operation in Modo 11.2 to enable procedural selection of previously created elements. The new “Set Polygon Type” grid converts the polygon type into regular surfaces, subdivided surfaces or Catmull-Clark polygons. There is also now a new “Flip Polygon” operation to reverse the direction of the normals.

Better UV tools with a new “UV Distortion” view, a new selection option for UVs that have not yet been mapped, as well as UVs in which the software detects errors.
