The Kyno media management tool from Lesspain Software was previously available only to Mac users and Windows beta testers. Following the beta phase, the tool is now also available for Windows. In one of the upcoming DP issues (focus: Asset Management), we will take a closer look at the software. Alongside Windows compatibility, the 1.4 update also adds LUTs, new codecs and workflow improvements.
New Features for Kyno
- Lookup Tables are now seamlessly integrated into the software’s preview, organisation and transcoding features.
- The new Play All function lets you play selected clips one after another with a single click so that you can review and evaluate the material more quickly.
- The list view can now be customised to show any metadata.
- Combine is a new feature that lets you merge multiple clips into a sequence while retaining the metadata of the individual shots.
- Timecode Overlay adds timecode options for your clips to the transcoder, with several adjustable parameters.
- GoPro CineForm codec support for another 10-bit editing format.
- Further improvements include a new subclip interface, export of .xml files with relative paths, performance improvements and various bug fixes.
