Less Noise—Altus Handles It

“This denoiser is better than the integrated ones from V-Ray, Corona or Render Man.” – A clear statement.

When the Internal Ones Are Not Enough…

Even though every well-known renderer nowadays has its own internal denoiser, InnoBright Technologies goes one better. With the Monte Carlo render denoising system called Altus, even higher quality can allegedly be achieved. The results shown certainly speak for themselves. Most of the time, it is even faster than its colleagues.

Altus vs. V-Ray: Comparison
Altus & V-Ray in comparison: V-Ray weakens in reproducing the detail of reflections. The V-Ray image has blurred reflections on the cube and refractions on the sphere.

The latest update, Altus 2.0, already has two versions: the GUI-based Altus Studio and the GUI/command-line Altus ServerPro. Redshift was even given its own version. Further integrations such as Arnold, Nuke, Houdini or Modo are either planned or already in beta.

Altus Studio ($299/year) is node-locked and is aimed more at individual artists or freelancers.
Altus Server Pro ($399/year), on the other hand, is aimed more at studios that want to run the software via render farms.

Both versions are available for 64-bit Windows 7 (or higher), Ubuntu 12.04 or CentOS 6.x Linux (or higher), and Mac OS X 10.9 (or higher).
