Disney has released two production assets for non-commercial purposes. They are intended to serve CG research and further education.
Fluffy Cloud
The first asset is a realistically appearing cloud that can, for example, be put to good use in volume-rendering research. The large and extremely detailled Volumetric CLoud Data Set is available in the “Cloud” package (ha!) on the Disney website.

Wanderlust?
Who can still remember the tropical island from Moana and perhaps wanted to fly away on holiday themselves straight away? For anyone for whom the island may not yet be within reach in reality, it can now at least be examined more closely on a PC. The massive data set contains the complete island from the well-known film Moana, exactly as it was used back then. It contains all teh trees, corals, the ocean and other things that occur in the scene. Shading information is also included, as well as several animations.
Warning! Once all instances have been placed, the scene contains more than 15 billion primitives!

You can get to the asset downloads and the associated notes HERE!

Have fun!
Billions falsch übersetzt?
