SpeedCut is a Python plug-in for Maya that lets you perform live boolean operations, as in ZBrush, for example. Since a Boolean Toolkit update can so far still be found with the status “Under Review” at Autodesk, SpeedCut may be useful for one artist or another:

The tool can interactively edit corresponding geometry in real time using cutter objects. These cutter objects can also be instanced or arranged in arrays or combined to create patterns. It is also possible to draw shapes live using a Draw or Box Draw function. These shapes can then be edited—for example the number of segments, bevel, fraction and more.

SpeedCut is currently available free here on Gumroad. The developer has so far tested the Python tool under Maya 2018.5, but Maya 2019 is also said to be supported.
