Unity Technologies has announced that the prices for the game engine will increase from the beginning of 2020. A Plus license currently costs 35 US dollars per month and a Pro license 125 US dollars per month. The costs will increase worldwide to $40 (Plus license) and $150 (Pro license). There are no changes for users of the Personal Edition—it remains free as before for people with an income of less than $100,000 per year. With this first price increase since 2016, according to the online FAQ, the company intends to invest in new technologies, features and services.
New prices start on January 1, 2020
Current subscriptions and agreements are not affected. However, new subscriptions, additional seats and renewals of expiring subscriptions will then only be offered at the new prices if they are purchased after December 31, 2019. Customer Support is available for further questions.
